DIY Tinted Moisturizer (on the cheap!)

Tuesday, May 15, 2012

With summer rolling around & the temperatures rising, for a lot of us that means a new makeup routine. I don't know about you ladies, but personally I don't want heavy makeup when I'm outside in the heat. All that sweating and running, no thanks.
That's why I just happen to love tinted moisturizer. It usually provides just the right amount of coverage without seeming heavy or cakey whatsoever. Plus, you can always use along with concealer if you have any acne or darkspots that need extra attention.

I know this is not breaking news by any means, but you likely don't have to run out & buy tinted moisturizer for summer. You can make it!

Simply mix a bit of your regular foundation with a bit of moisturizer. The more coverage you need, the more foundation you can mix in. I use Bare Essentials foundation & Biore moisturizer, but you could use whatever you have on hand. Even liquid foundations would work well, you would just lighten them up with the moisturizer!

Not only is it easy to make... it's cheap. Plus doing it this way means you know you will have the right shade that matches your skin tone... assuming you have the right shade of makeup on hand, that is!
Try it out & let me know what you think! Whatever makeup tricks do you girls have up your sleeve??

Oh, that's brilliant! I honestly had no idea you could make tinted moisturizer that way... I'll definitely be trying it! I recently discovered that wearing a little bright lipstick keeps me looking fresh and awake all day long...even if I'm feeling like I'm about to die from sheer exhaustion. =)

That's such a simple idea that I can't believe I never thought of. I also love the Organic Wear tinted moisturizer...it provides just the right about of coverage and lasts FOREVER.

I usually don't wear foundation, but I love moisturizers with SPF. I just went to Sephora yesterday to get samples of some to try so I can find one that works for me.

You are a freaking genius! I have some BM that I can't stand, in powder form - but this might redeem my $100 worth of unused BM products! Thanks Samantha!
