Vaca Prep - Day 2!

Tuesday, July 24, 2012

Today, I've worked from home, other than I had to run afew errands. I always feel like when you're home, you are constantly wandering into the kitchen... or at least I am! Anyway, here is what I've eaten today..

Food

For breakfast, I had black tea, 2 eggs, greek yogurt with strawberries & blueberries, small piece of zucchini bread with fake butter.

Then for a snack, a handful of almonds.

Lunch, salad. Similar to yesterdays salad - spinach, blush vinagrette dressing, almonds, feta, strawberries, red onion, and this time I added mandarin oranges.

Then I've already had 2 snacks this afternoon.. I guess the extra workouts are making me hungry - upping my metabolism even more.

First I had another small slice of zucchini bread. - Really don't want to let this go to waste before we leave on Thursday evening. Too good to pass up! Um... anyone else like ice in your milk?? That is the only way I like it. It has to be super cold.

Later on I had a serving of animal crackers & cut up strawberries with another small glass of milk. (with ice, duh).

Tonight we are going out to dinner with a Jason's salesman & his wife. So my plan is to order something healthy & hold off on the cocktails for tonight :)

Now for exercise....

Workouts

I started the morning off by taking Kobe for a run after breakfast. He LOVES going for runs. He seriously can tell when I have workout clothes on, then once I say the word 'run' he freaks out.
He's a good running partner. I try to run in the grass most of the time with him, today we went somewhere around 1.5 or 2 miles. Then at the end of the run he ofcourse had to get into the creek to cool off.

My other workout for the day was this:
Another great workout from Bodyrock. This one had 18 rounds of 45 seconds intense work, followed by 5 seconds of rest. It's super intense interval training & it's amazing.

So far so good with my vaca prep! Tomorrow one of my workouts will be Zumba class, it's always good to change things up! What's your favorite workout??

Vaca Prep - Day 1!

Monday, July 23, 2012

Well, we made it through another Monday! Next Monday will be lovely for me because I will be relaxing here...

Ohhh, Destin, how I've missed you. Ready for some time off with Jason & some great friends. Plus some good reads & some adult bevies!

Anyways, in preperation for our trip, I've decided to really buckle down this week, like I mentioned here. I'm eating healthy all week with NO cheating, and I'm doubling my workouts. Here is how I did today...

Workouts
In my book, Bodyrocking is the only way to go :) These are the workouts I did today.

This...(hello abs ;)
and this...

Both awesome workouts. If you haven't tried Bodyrock, get on it! Seriously you will love it.

Food

For breakfast, I had black tea along with 2 eggs, 1 slice of wheat toast with fake butter, and strawberries & bananas sprinkled with cinnamon.

For a snack, I had a handful of almonds.

Then for lunch, I made a salad with spinach, red onion, feta, and strawberries. Plus a light vinagrette dressing. I typically add walnuts or pecans, but this time it was almonds. This is one of my favorite salads both to order at restaurants or to make myself :)

For an afternoon snack, I had McDonald's oatmeal. I was out all afternoon showing houses/condos, then I had to run to a cleaning job afterwards, so I had to grab something quick. I wish I would have packed something, but hey - oatmeal is always a good choice in my book & it definitely beat the alternative.

For dinner, Jason cooked tonight :) He grilled pork chops & squash. Yum!

So Day 1 has been a success so far, now I plan on relaxing a bit tonight and preparing for the rest of the busy week before vaca. I swear, if you're not busy already, you will be when you schedule vacation. Always!

Peace out lovers, see you tomorrow for my Day 2 recap :)

Monday - What am I doing this week?

Saw this image on good ole Pinterest & thought it was super cute. Cute, though ironic, because there will be absolutely no cupcakes for me this week. That's right, ladies. In preperation for our departure to somewhere sunny on Friday, I have deemed this the week of clean eating & exercising. No, this is not a 'crash' diet of sorts. Just healthy eating & exercise, which I do anyways most of the time, but this week I'm really going to buckle down. This little bloggy is going to turn into my eating/exercise diary this week.

I'm going to do my best to avoid processed foods, and cut back on the carbs while still enjoying some whole grains of course. And lastly, no desserts! I will post pictures of all of my meals/snacks the following day.

I'm also going to be doubling my workouts for the week. Typically I do one bodyrock workout 5 days per week, plus the occasional run. This week I'm going to do  one of the following:

- 2 bodyrock workouts per day (they are 12-20 min total, so totally doable.)
-1 bodyrock workout + run with Kobe.

Who wants to join me? It's a great way to hold yourself accountable. See ya tomorrow for the recap :)

Currently...

Thursday, July 19, 2012

Currently I'm wasting time on Pinterest while I wait for a counteroffer to show up in my inbox. Clearly. Sooo I found this little gem & thought it would make for a great blog post idea. Of course :)

So here we go.

Currently...

Listening to a rerun of Million Dollar Listing while I sit in my 'office' (read couch).
Eating nothing right now, however I just had a sundried tomato & goat cheese quesadilla at a local restaurant. Pretty good stuff!
Drinking water... as always. Water or margaritas that is. Mm... margaritas!
Wearing a super old yet cute white sundress with a brown studded belt. I've just taken off my shoes so I could relax for a bit in my couch office.
Feeling hopeful that this counteroffer is going to come in where we want it to. Excited about the weekend. A bit sore from my workout this morning. Ready for a mid-day nap. I wish!
Weather is freakin' hot. It was overcast this morning so I was able to take Kobe for a run before my workout, but now it's sunny with a 105 degree heat index. Nice!
Wanting to make zucchini bread tonight.
Needing to get the good news one of my closings is scheduled for next week.
Thinking about that nap... ha.
Enjoying taking some time to breathe & relax.

A healthy dose of competition...

Wednesday, July 18, 2012

Hey loves. So I've been thinking alot lately about how much I miss playing a sport. Sure, I run. I workout, I'm active. Jason & I play one-on-one basketball in the driveway. Sometimes I even roller blade. But I think what I really miss is the team aspect of playing a sport. That & the competition.

Source: google.com via jane on Pinterest
When I was younger I played basketball from elementary school all the way up to my senior year in high school. I also had a brief stint as a roller hockey player back in the day. Yes, I was the only girl on the team. Boy was that a fun sport!
There was nothing better than committing yourself to something & being able to compete with your team. It was just the best feeling.

I'm thinking of possibly finding a basketball league or something this fall. Do any of you guys participate in team sports or some other team competition/workout class? I'd love to hear any ideas!

Tell me I'm not the only one that is seriously craving competition?!

The day I jumped out of a plane... on purpose!

Tuesday, July 17, 2012

Yep, ladies. I did it! I went skydiving this past Sunday. And it was AMAZING!

I soo wish I could have taken my camera up in the plane with us, but sadly that wasn't allowed. Still got some good pictures from the ground though.
Good ole Arnold's airport. This was not what you would expect when you hear the word 'airport'. It was more like a farm. Safe to say GPS did not get us here. We had to wing it.

This was our plane. Don't know what the random blur in front of us is.

All suited up. These parachute backpacks are heavy!!
Getting ready to load up in the plane & take off!

I landed on my feet! Our class actually had a guy that sat through most of the class where you learned about possible mishaps & how to handle them - then he bailed. No way I was going to bail!

We did what is called a static jump. Basically we went up to 3500 ft. altitude, then we were hooked up to a static line. Once we climbed out onto the strut of the plane & jumped, the static line let us free fall about 10-15 feet, then automatically pulled our parachutes for us. There are also tandem jumps, where you go to a much higher altitude, but you are hooked to an instructor who pulls the parachute rip cord for you both.

I can't even describe the feeling of jumping out of the plane, free falling, then gliding once your parachute opened. It was truly an experience. So happy I did it!

Message to my clients...

Friday, July 13, 2012

First off, whoa, two posts in one day? What's gotten into me?
Second, beware, this is a bit of a rant session.

As we've discussed before, I wear many hats. Real Estate agent, wine glass painter, house cleaner (cleaning girl -cleaner - how in the hell do you say this?) I like all of my hats. I like to be my own boss.

Anyway... I have a little tip that I wish I could just pass along to ALL of my sellers & cleaning clients out there. DO THIS!

Source: via Samantha on Pinterest
If you have a million things in your shower, please Do. This. Now. Not only will it make your shower a lot easier to get in & out of without knocking over one of your 9385734 bottles, toys, bars of soap... But your shower will look wayyy less cluttered AND be soo much easier to clean. Just FYI.

Really, I mean, it's pretty easy to hint to sellers what they need to work on to make thier home show better... but try asking your cleaning clients to do something to make it easier for you to clean? Hm. I don't think that would go over so well. Do you really need to hold on to 47 pretty much empty bottles of body wash though? Really? So I'm thinking, maybe I will just print out this picture, then hang it up on the freshly cleaned shower as a hint and then maybe they would just maybe do it?

One other message to my cleaning clients... I would like them to know that 99% of the time, I can tell what they had for dinner the night (or week) before by the various food stains I find on the table, island, counters, etc. This week it was chocolate ice cream & I'm going to guess lasagna. That or spaghetti.

Now I'm on a roll. Also, could you please be sure to give your pets food & water? I go to one house every week, and they have the sweetest dog ever. She's huge, maybe some kind of Mastif, but I swear whenever I get there, she has NO water in her bowl. Did I mention that her water bowl is about the right size for a freaking chiuaua/chiwawa? Rat dog. So when I arrive, I fill it up. While I'm there, I fill it up again. Then when I leave, I play with this sweet dog, give her five treats a treat & fill up her water yet again. Sometimes I even fill up her empty food bowl with water so it will last longer. I'm thinking about leaving a large water bowl as a gift along with my "hint" I leave in the shower.

Shewww... for the most part I swear I love most of my clients. Geez louise. Sometimes a girls just gotta put it out there!

It's OK! Alright, alright, alright...

Thursday, July 5, 2012

Its Ok Thursdays
It's alright, it's ok...

It is MORE than ok to spend your 4th of July on the river complete with cocktails, floats, food & good friends.

It's ok to give in & go see Magic Mike. I know alot of people are complaining that the movie had no plot yada yada yada... but I liked it! Channing Tatum - Enough said. CSI Miami guy - Enough said. They intentionally made Matthew McConohay's character gross, but he still has a rockin' bod. Alright, alright, alright... To the left... Mr. Alex Rodriguez. Oh yeah.

It is totally ok to order beer in even numbers only when it's happy hour 2 for 1.

It's ok to continue the 4th of July festivities by taking Friday off and leaving early for a weekend at the lake. Jason's birthday is on the 4th, so we totally have an excuse.

It's ok to let yourself splurge on dessert! Peanut butter pie - yes please.

It's ok to crave a workout after consuming said peanut butter pie.

Hope everyone has an awesome weekend.
