Hey ladies!
Thought I'd pop in & share something beauty related with you for once. I found this trick on youtube & it's totally worth sharing...
I'm a huge fan of at home scrubs/moisturizers with natural ingredients. This lemon sugar scrub helps:
Exfoliate
Get rid of dead skin cells
Brighten your skin
Even your skin tone
Help heal acne/black heads
I made up a mixture using equal amounts of sugar & lemon, then stored in a little mini container in the shower. That way it's really convenient to use a couple of times a week. I really found it to brighten my skin. Sort of like a mini facial! I found it on Kandee Johnson's youtube channel, check out her video tutorial below.
Now why, you ask, was I on the hunt for an at home exfoliating-skin brightening-blemish clearing remedy?? Ummm... because of this:
I heard sooo many people rave about this 'BB' cream that ofcourse I had to try it out myself. I don't wear a ton of makeup & love tinted moisturizer & bare minerals, so I thought this would be an awesome product. Being my cheap self, I looked for the best rated drugstore version & came up with Loreal BB cream.
Ladies, is it just me that had problems? I do have sensative skin, & found that after about a week of continued use I was seeing more breakouts. If I break out, it's usually small blemishes on my nose where I sweat. It's hardly ever on my cheeks... well after using this bad boy I started having breakouts in the strangest places. Coincidence? I think not.
Do y'all use BB cream? If so, what's your go-to brand? I don't want to give it up for good quite yet.
In other news... after months & months of waiting & watching for a sale, these babies are en route to my front door. Yayy!
Use code SMMAR1 for an extra 10% off your order from Steve Madden. Hoping for a speedy delivery!
I had the day off today & have been spring cleaning everything! Cleaning out closets, organizing, deep cleaning the house, washing all of the bedding... I'm in need of a cold beverage now.
Headed to meet Jason for a margarita & mexican... not bad for a Monday night!
xo

Those boots are so cute! Now if only I had an extra $118 in my budget right now. I'm dying, i want them so bad!!
Cute, cute boots!
I jumped on the BB cream band wagon too and got mine from Walmart. Can't remember the brand now. The next day my face was BRIGHT RED!! I returned that baby. Who was I kidding though?! I can't even wear foundation on my face without breaking out. Overly Sensitive skin, UGH!
I haven't tried the BB Cream but I've heard mixed reviews so far! Maybe try to switch to another brand or something! Seems like some brands got it nailed where others missed the mark with this cream.

I definitely want to get that lemon sugar scrub a try! And I've been wanting to try a BB cream because everyone just raves about them, so thanks for sharing your experience with the L'Oreal product. My skin tends to react strangely to products too. And those boots!! SO CUTE!
I have that BB cream and I love it! Great post!
Love steve madden boots, they always rock! loving all of this stuff in this post :) I will have to try the lemon and sugar face scrub!!
I want to try the lemon sugar scrub! I used to love this one oatmeal scrub that got discontinued and I have yet to find one that works for my skin!
Oooh that lemon sugar scrub is definitely worth a try. I love DIY projects. As for the BB cream, I have tried Maybelline's bb stick but I ended up getting a few zits here and there. When it comes to BB creams I will have to give it up for the Asian brand, Missha. I super love high light it feels and it is long lasting, it gives me 12 hour coverage and it's got a lot of minerals that leaves your skin glowing and pretty. I tried using it for 2 weeks and I am really happy with its results, for me it functions not just as a cosmetic product but it also provides skin care and skin care maintenance. Needless to say I am in love with the product. Oh and the tube comes with a pump so no need to squeeze out the bb cream. This bb product is not watery but light and creamy and it spreads easily so you only need to use a small amount. =) I've also tried other Asian BB cream products like those from Etude, it is a bit cheaper and gives you about the same effect but with less coverage and it makes me oily. boohoo. =) I hope you find a BB cream that works for you.
this is awesome!!!

I stumbled upon this blog post when I was googling whether or not the lemon and sugar scrub is actually good because I saw Kandee's video about it too. And strangely enough, I think I had the same problem with a product breaking me out. Mine was actually CC cream (Not BB. Though I read the discriptions of several BB and CC creams while shopping and couldn't really find a discernible difference between BB and CC-- except that BB stands for "beauty balm" or something and CC stands for "color correcting"). I wanted to give it a try as well. I don't know whether or not it caused me to break out on its own, or if it was because it got hot in my make up bag while travelling, but my skin has been angry at me for months now and I have been on the hunt for something to cure it! I might have to give the scrub a try.
