An interesting fitness adventure..

Friday, August 31, 2012

Hey lovelies.

So all in all I consider myself to be pretty open minded when it comes to anything 'fitness' or even dance, even though I am NOT a dancer by any means.

Which is why, when we came across this little Groupon for something on the, ahem, exotic side, we just went for it.

'It' being...

Yep. That's right. Polesque. Emphasis on the 'pole'.

Let me just take you through the night play by play.

-We arrive. Well, we get lost, and show up 10 minutes late to be exact. I'm sorry but who would have thought a place called 'polesque' would be located in an industrial park? Not I.

-My friend Trish comes outside and the first words out of her mouth are. "You made it. By the way, the instructor has on really short (more like nonexistant) shorts. And she really shouldn't."

-We go inside and fill out our waivers. You know, incase something happens to us - on the POLE! Then we meet our instructor. And NO she shouldn't be wearing 'nonexistant' shorts'. (TMI but her butt was literally eating the 'shorts'. And I know alot of people have cellulite, but she was over. the. top.)

-So first we start with some 'sexy' stretching. Our instructor was really awkward the entire time. Not to mention that our class ranged from people in their 20's all the way up to 50's. Nice.

-Then, we proceeded the the pole portion of the class. We learned the 'fireman' aka flailing yourself around the pole. Next came 'pole crunches' where you held on and flailed your legs up in the air.

- I get asked if I have a dance background. Um, not even a little!

-Next, our instructor took off her tank top and did the rest of the routine in her bra. She said, "I love chocolate milk, so I'll never have flat abs. I drink a half gallon a day." Nothing says sexy quite like that.

I am in no way ripping on strippers, if you want to strip, more power to you! But this class sucked. I think our instructor must have been fired from her strip club before opening this joint.

Well, I'm off to practice my 'new moves'. Happy Friday!

Keep Calm & . . .

Thursday, August 30, 2012

So is the 'Keep Calm' saying worn out yet? I thought so until I saw this one on Pinterest ;)

And then.... I found this.

THIS website lets you customize your own t-shirts :) What do you guys think? Should I order it? I thought it would be a good casual t-shirt to wear & maybe a conversation starter. Maybe I'll even get a few new clients out of it, ya think?

Keeping it Classy

Tuesday, August 28, 2012

This, my ladies, I like to all curb appeal... or the lack thereof!

Keeping it classy! I'd love to see the interior decor of this gem. Saw this on the Tenlist facebook page. They always have funny stuff posted, thought I'd share. Enjoy your Tuesday... one day closer to Labor Day Weekend!

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

Monday, August 27, 2012

Photobucket

Good:
-Keeping it consistent working out - Bodyrocking 5-6 days each week. Plus I'm still running with the
pup a few days a week.
-Setting up a plan for September to use only cash, to reign in my spending even more than usual, so  I can really focus on paying off my car before the end of the year.
- Pumpkin Spice Lattes. Sooo ready for these.
- Trying out Hot "Vanilla" instead of Hot Chocolate at home. Pleasantly surprised.
- Starting with cleaning a new clients house this week. It's a converted barn & HUGE, so unconventional but really neat.
- Got my new mailers sent out to real estate clients - each one comes with a 10% off Lowes coupon. Yay!

Bad:
- Skipping a friends baby shower & a friends wedding shower in favor of celebrating a friends birthday on the river. Fair trade off in my book!
- Invisible fence is broken - surge damaged. ( Sitting here as we speak waiting for the service man to arrive and charge me $89/hour.) Sweet!
- Car insurance. Health insurance. Ugh. Just UGH! I just hate spending money things like this!

Ugly:
- I have TWO bug bites... on my FACE! Literally got home from hanging out poolside with my friend Holly, looked in the mirror, and saw these huge bites on my face. One on my forehead, one on my cheek. Nice. What in the world do I do about this? My normal routine with bug bites is to scratch them until they scab - gross! - but I don't think that's a very hot idea for my face, huh?

It's Ok Thursday

Thursday, August 23, 2012

Hey loves. Linking up with Neely for It's Ok Thursday..

Its Ok Thursdays

It's OK to shamelessly wander around your yard with an am radio, desperately trying to find the break in your invisible fence wire, because you are too cheap to have the invisible fence people come out at $89/hour.

It's OK to plan on making a special trip to Starbucks this afternoon. Word on the street: Pumpkin spice latte is baaackkkk.

It's OK to make up excuses on why you cannot attend friends baby/wedding/divorce/bridal/housewarming etc. parties and then just send a gift. I swear there is a shower for everything these days.

It's OK to workout extra hard to justify eating cookie dough that night.

It's OK to DIY... and fail.

It's OK to drool when Ryan Lochte appears all the sudden on the Today Show.
(now let me wipe the drool off of my keyboard...)

It's OK to hold off on my iphone purchase & have a little hope that I'll get it for my birthday this month... hello boyfriend. haha. Maybe, just maybe.

It's OK to reign in your spending. This month I'm switching to cash (instead of debit card) to help eliminate unneccesary purchases. Then I'm throwing EVERYTHING extra at my car so I can hopefully get it paid off by the end of the year.

It's OK to have a twitter account that you use only to enter giveaways via the rafflecopter on others blogs.

What's OK with you lovelies today??

Because everyone is so obsessed with Fall...

Tuesday, August 21, 2012

Go get some of this! It's amazing. It makes me a little obsessed with Fall making it's debut, too.

Other Fall faves:
Smores
Bonfires
Pumpkin Spice lattes from the dreaded SB
At home Pumpkin Spice lattes - much cheaper!
Sam Adams Octoberfest - to alternate with the above...
Fires in the fireplace
Runs outside & seeing all of the pretty leaves
Fall fashion - boots. sweaters. more boots.

Fall FAILS:
Winter's upcoming debut.

5 for Friday

Friday, August 17, 2012

Photobucket
1. I perfected the bun this week. My hair is finally getting long enough to expiriment.
2. I splurged. I NEVER thought I would be caught dead in Sunglass Hut or any other foofy sunglass retailer. But I, my friends, have done it. I have lived in walmart & target sunglasses forever, and have been getting headaches lately in the sun, so I decided to make an 'investment'. Still feeling a bit guilty about these babies. I'll feel even more guilty if I happen to lose them in the river.
3. Starbucks pretty much loves me. Or actually, I guess they love Jason since this little sample package was addressed to him. I however, claimed it. Now to clean the Keurig...
4. Trying out new cocktail recipes. I like to call myself a mixologist in training. This here is the berries & cream cocktail. Also tried, the 'hottie' - with watermelon juice & jalapeno infused tequila.
5. New blog design :) I'm diggin' it.

Enjoy your weekend pretties! Mine started extra early last night with a Hank Williams Jr. concert. Now tonight we're headed to this cute little restaurant for 'create your own margarita' night. Pretty excited about that one! The rest of the weekend I plan to catch up on work, finish reading my book and spend some time outside (cocktail in hand).
